Luke Skywalker
Luke Skywalker is a character in the Star Wars universe, portrayed by Mark Hamill in the films Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Luke plays a major role in the original trilogy as he learns the ways of the Jedi and becomes an important figure in the Rebel Alliance, leading the struggle against the Galactic Empire. As the son of former Jedi Anakin Skywalker, he is heir to a family deeply powerful in the Force. In the Expanded Universe, he becomes a powerful Jedi Master and eventually the Grand Master of the New Jedi Order.
Darth Vader
Darth Vader is the central character in the Star Wars universe. In the original trilogy, he was portrayed by David Prowse and a series of stunt doubles, most notably Bob Anderson, while his voice was supplied by James Earl Jones. Vader is one of the most iconic villains in film history and was ranked third on American Film Institute's 100 Heroes and Villains list.
Darth Maul
As portrayed in the Expanded Universe novel Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter, Maul was kidnapped from his Jedi training by the Sith Lord Darth Sidious at an early age. Maul was told to forget what he had learned from the Jedi and was indoctrinated in the ways of the dark side of the Force from youth. Maul had no memories of his homeworld of Iridonia, and was incapable of emotion aside from bloodlust and rage. During his training, any show of fear was severely punished by Sidious and any hint of mercy was rewarded with cruelty.
Darth Sidious
Palpatine is a major antagonist in Star Wars fiction. Born on the planet Naboo 82 years before the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), he is a key politician in the Republic who claims to represent peace and democracy. In reality, Palpatine is Darth Sidious, a powerful Sith Lord who practices the dark sidethe Force. He initiates and manipulates the Clone Wars to destroy the Jedi and establish the totalitarian Galactic Empire.
Darth Tyrannus
Count Dooku, also known as Darth Tyranus, is a fictional character from the Star Wars universe and Palpatine's apprentice. In the prequel films, he is played by Christopher Lee, but is voiced by Corey Burton in the video games and the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars. He is the arch-villain in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and a supporting villain in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, in which his demise takes place.
Padme Amidala
Padmé Naberrie Amidala-Skywalker is a fictional character in George Lucas' science fiction saga Star Wars. She first appeared on film in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) as the young queen of the planet Naboo. In subsequent prequel trilogy films, Padmé represents Naboo in the Galactic Senate. She is featured in the animated miniseries Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003–2005) and in Star Wars literature. Padmé is the secret wife of Anakin Skywalker and mother of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa.
Princess Leia
Princess Leia Organa Solo of Alderaan (born Leia Amidala Skywalker) is a fictional character in the Star Warsuniverse. She was portrayed by actress Carrie Fisher in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, as well as The Star Wars Holiday Special. Aiden Barton appeared as an infant Leia in Revenge of the Sith. Ann Sachs provided the voice of Leia in the 1980s radio dramas of the original trilogy. She is one of the main protagonists of the original Star Wars trilogy. In Return of the Jedi, it is revealed that she is the twin sister of Luke Skywalker, and thus the daughter of Darth Vader. In the Star Wars prequel films, her mother is identified as Padmé Amidala.
